I recently had a shoulder replacement, and my orthopedist strongly recommended the game ready machine. It costs more than $3000 but it is available for rent at $200 per week. I used it for two weeks and thought it was good. I wanted to continue using an ice machine since it was helpful, but this cost was prohibitive and I bought the polar care wave machine instead. I was very pleasantly surprised. I think it functions better than the game ready machine at a small fraction of the cost. The only down side of the Breg machine is that it does not have an on off timer that cycles as the game ready machine does. This was readily fixed with a $20 smart plug controlled by my cell phone. I strongly recommend this ice machine. It fits better, provides lower temperature cold water as well as compression and costs 90% less than the game ready machine. It’s a winner.
I am going to have knee replacement surgery soon and decided to by this cold therapy system.
I did try it on my knee, and it felt really cold.
I only have it for a week - but so far - all is good - no issues
I have been a physical therapist assistant for 40 years. When I decided to finally get my knee replaced, I wanted the best ice and compression machine around. My Breg Polar care wave and compression made my recovery so much better. I highly recommend this company and their products!!
Device is easy to use and much more convenient post op since the ice packs and water lasts hours. My research indicated this PT company had the best price for the Wave. Purchase was easy, delivery was within a few days. I purchased the universal pad since after the repair on my knee I will be tackling a repair to hip tendon.
Beware of return policy. My surgery was cancelled and item is still in sealed box. This company will only refund within two weeks of delivery with a TWENTY percent restocking fee plus customer pays for shipping. All told, it would cost me about $100 to return item. So I am keeping it to use for future surgeries.
