Love the Berg polar care cube. It has been a great pain reducer since I had surgery. I do wish it had an ON /OFF switch, it would make it so you wouldn’t have to unplug it every time you are finished using it. Otherwise it’s fantastic!
Bought it for my wife. She has torn rotator cuff and is waiting on surgery. She uses it twice a day and it helps reduce swelling and pain.
I bought this for my son to use post surgery for a labral shoulder repair. This has been WONDERFUL! I highly recommend you purchase the protective sterile dressing (minimum of two, especially since they do NOT adhere well to the pad with multiple uses). I also highly recommend purchasing the ice freeze bags (kit of 12) and freeze them the day before your surgery so they are ready to go. Once you get past the paranoia of the sterile dressing completely covering the skin and checking multiple times throughout using it, you will absolutely love this machine! The only tweak I made while using this for the shoulder is sometimes the hose on the bicep would kink in the shoulder pad and restrict the cold air flow. I smoothed out the kink by stuffing a couple of cotton balls in the depressed bicep area under the protective sterile dressing and the cold air flow was perfect. They need to put two small 2 inch plastic tubes extending from the hose and shoulder connection to prevent this kinking. And yes, you can use this device immediately after surgical discharge by gently sliding the pad and sterile dressing in between the sling you can’t take off for three days and the shoulder.
Bought this for a knee replacement. Easy setup and use. Works great. Much better and more comfortable than using ice packs. I would recommend buying the extra velcro straps. (people are different sizes).
We borrowed a Polar Care Cube from a friend for my husband’s first shoulder replacement surgery and it was immensely helpful for managing his pain so we bought one of our own to help with his second shoulder surgery.
